Where to get the best pizza in Lynchburg

Real Estate

Lynchburg, Virginia. Known for its rich history and renovated architecture, its beautiful summers and elevated views. The city boasts a surplus of fantastic Pizzerias so we recommend you try something different while you’re here. Here are some of my favorite pizza places and why I love them;
Waterstone Pizzeria is located on the river front of the James River and boasts high end décor, brick fired pizza oven and a great range of cocktails and local beers. The friendly and attentive staff add to the relaxed atmosphere and this is an ideal option for families and a popular choice for fist dates. They also offer a boxed lunch order service, with delivery options which is of equally high quality, though bare in mind that there is a minimum order of five boxes and they need to be ordered a day in advance. They are none the less a fabulous idea for a fancy picnic!

One of the lesser known restaurants is family owned and run Mr Shipp’s pizza and subs, tucked away on the city outskirts on the Forest road. The staff are friendly and welcoming and their pizzas won the 2014 Bedford Bulletin readers’ choice gold award. The business has just celebrated its seventeenth year of trading and they have a fleet of loyal customers who regard their take-out service one of a kind. Let’s wish them all the best in their eighteenth year.

Another highly recommended family-friendly establishment is La Villa Da Toto, located just off Timberlake road near the putt putt fun centre, an ideal respite after a day out. Of particular not is the owner, who welcomes his guests with a warm smile and a handshake, his staff attentive and friendly. Their portions are generous and guests have rated their pizza dishes particularly highly. La Villa Da Toto is another lesser known gem of Lynchburg, though it is gaining in popularity and more and more customers frequent the restaurant every year, so it is definitely worth a visit.

One of the best places if you’re looking for value has to be Blaze Pizza located on Ward Road, near Bed, Bath and Beyond. An ideal location to refuel after an exhausting morning shopping. They have a plethora of toppings to choose from and offer a deal of unlimited toppings for $8.00! Staff are attentive and service is fast. A great no-fuss place to lunch.
There is, of course, a Pizza Hutt and Dominoes for those of less discerning taste, though with so many highly rated and reasonably priced alternatives in the area, many of which offer great take-out and delivery services and are run by local business people, we hope you will give them a try and support local business growth.
